Case Study: Remote Breakdown
One of our valued customers recently faced a difficult situation when one of their heavy vehicles lost power and stalled in a remote location. Unable to restart the vehicle, the driver contacted CPR for assistance. Our team quickly responded with a field service technician being sent out to diagnose the issue.
Upon arrival, the technician secured the vehicle and began the assessment. CPR field technicians are equipped with comprehensive diagnostic tools, but in this case, the fault was identified through a visual inspection. The inspection revealed that the fuel pump had ejected from the rear timing case, causing extensive damage to the surrounding timing gears.
Due to the severity of the breakdown, an on-site repair was not possible. Our technician organised transport of the vehicle back to our workshop to complete the required repairs. Once the vehicle arrived, the team began work by removing the gearbox to access the timing case and gears. Replacement parts were express shipped from interstate and installed quickly and efficiently by our truck repair specialists.
With repairs completed the team carried out all necessary safety checks to ensure the vehicle was ready to return to service.
